Disappeared Then appeared

Noof Alrefaei

A sphere disappeared into the horizon as it rolled, transforming from time to time and from place to place. Today it reappeared, renewed - more beautiful on the outside and firmer on the inside.

The exhibition is the product of a 4-year study that began in 2020 on the changing practices brought about by everything out of the ordinary, and its reflection on us as humans. Such as the alteration of everything habitual and the entry into global experiences never tried before, and the search for alternative solutions different from everything we have known and missed. Everything permitted becomes impossible, and the impossible becomes permitted, leading us to inner peace and making us stronger than any other time before. All the artworks are spherical, representing the globe in the form of global, local, or personal events. Leaving room for the audience to question on a personal level how to adapt and navigate any new experience different from the habitual.

The exhibition includes 64 spherical works, all hand-sewn from recycled fabrics.
