Albareh Art Space is pleased to announce Khuyut al-Hawiya (Threads of Identity), a Sikkat Albareh art and research programme exploring Bahraini weaving through contemporary art, running from 12 September to 29 October 2026 with the generous personal support of Her Highness Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa.
Curated by Hayfa AlJishi and Nouf AlRifai with master weaver Habib Mohammed Saleh, the programme brings ten artists to the Bani Jamra textile factory to learn the techniques, tools and history of the traditional loom, and then to weave one work each, in five pairs, over ten days from 20 to 29 September. Each artist completes the woven piece in their own language, and the finished works will be shown in a closing exhibition at Albareh Art Space from 11 to 29 October 2026.
The programme opens with a research visit to Bani Jamra on Saturday 12 September 2026.

يسرّ مساحة البارح للفنون أن تعلن عن برنامج خيوط الهوية، وهو برنامج فني وبحثي من سكة البارح يستكشف النسيج البحريني من خلال الفن المعاصر، ويقام في الفترة من ١٢ سبتمبر إلى ٢٩ أكتوبر ٢٠٢٦ بدعم كريم من سمو الشيخة ضوى بنت خالد آل خليفة.
بإشراف هيفاء الجشي ونوف الرفاعي، ومع حرفي النسيج حبيب محمد صالح، يجمع البرنامج عشرة فنانين في مصنع بني جمرة للنسيج للتعرف على تقنيات النول التقليدي وأدواته وتاريخه، ثم نسج عمل واحد لكل فنان ضمن خمس مجموعات ثنائية على مدى عشرة أيام من ٢٠ إلى ٢٩ سبتمبر. يستكمل كل فنان قطعته المنسوجة بأسلوبه الخاص، وتُعرض الأعمال المكتملة في معرض ختامي في مساحة البارح للفنون من ١١ إلى ٢٩ أكتوبر ٢٠٢٦.
ينطلق البرنامج بزيارة بحثية إلى بني جمرة يوم السبت ١٢ سبتمبر ٢٠٢٦.
